There's no reason NOT to attack a warrior if the monk is tied up and your damage ignores armour. In fact, dropping their damage dealers takes pressure off your own monk, which can give a win. You have a few basic ways to win: Deal more damage than they can heal/prevent, or heal/prevent more damage than they can dish out, or both.
Attacking their monk is a way of trying to accomplish this; reducing their healing capacity is a good thing, and using damage against weakly armoured casters makes some sense for efficiency, so why spike a warrior? Well, reducing their offense also makes sense, so watching a charging warrior for frenzy can make some sense; if you already have a guy suppressing the monk, and your damage ignores armour anyway, and the warrior frenzies, why not take out the offensive target fast?
Pressure off your monk, you can concentrate on dropping another target at even less risk. Order of tragetting really depends on the build; not every team is best served by trying to eliminate a monk first.

yep very true, especially so when the monk has made a build to keep THEMSELVES alive almost indefinately - let them rig themselves up, kill their pals then the 4 of you beat the crap out of the 'invinci-monk'

That's what I love about the new interface. You can call the fact that the Mo/E is using Obsidian Flesh, Kinetic Armor, and Armor of Earth. Then people actually follow your calls when you say to hit a warrior first.
I also call Frenzy when I see someone using it in CA. Mainly becuase many CA warriors don't do the sprint switch.

I always use frenzy in CA, and it rarely backfires. It is annoying when people target me, but when I set up my spike it doesn't matter if I take double damage for a bit, I can usually kill them faster. But the main reason I use it (with sprint of course) is just for better practice with stance switching and using frenzy for GvG/tombs.

Epinephrine i dont know if you read the entire post, because very clearly if the warriors wasnt frenzied he wouldnt have died, i.e. wasted energy since you cant really sustain damage using crystal wave/obs flame.
im not going to accomodate him for not switching out of frenzy >.<

So I've been really busy the past couple of days, so I've been farming faction in random arenas. Played a boon prot for a while, but when that got to easy I switched to a W/E. No healing spells, anything, a standard shock axe warrior. What I've learned about random arenas?
People are idiots. They attack warriors first.
Those warriors are idiots. They'll use Frenzy. They won't have Sprint.
People who base what skills are good and/or bad based on random arenas are... idiots.
I used to not bring Frenzy into randoms because well, it's randoms and people might attack me. Now it's just better to practice with it. I refuse to run any self-sufficient builds in random; even if I lose, at least I'm not practicing bad habits.

frenzy rulez in TA and tomb, cuz no one ever target warrior except noob group in panic. My warrior can run pass enemy without losing a hair.
but crap in CA cuz they LOVE to target the lonely warrior that unfortunate enough to stand a little bit ahead of the team, and here is where my "noob" W/mo sword shine..". LAWL LAWL LAW look at that 'noob' sword W/Mo, let
s kill him!!!oneoneeleven!!!111" /me cast mending errrr shield of jugment and wack them without frenzy of course :P
btw 448dmg = instant kill? LAWL LAWL LAWL that Warrior is noobbbbb by didn't choose the +45 HP shield while stance for a total of 500 Hp (with sup rune and sup vigor)
It maybe hard at first but after countless battle in CA/TA/Tomb i finally can use frenzy relatively safe with very minimum death now
also when I detected someone was using frenzy then no matter what is their class (R/W or W/x) and switch target to that frenzy right away.. x2 dmg will out heal any monks (yes, monks with the "s" )

The group I was facing only had 4 warriors. I think I'll target the warrior first in that case.

Sounds to me like a really bad warrior, especially to make the same mistake more than once. However, things like this happen all the time. What really puzzles me is how this thread has survived as long as it has.

The greatest thing in the latest patch was being able to see your foes stances.
There are still warriors that didnt notice the difference till then.

They'd drop the pets, obviously...
And no, I wasn't suggesting this as a serious build anyways

Key here is that there's a lot of stupid warriors who don't use Frenzy + Sprint to cancel each other out.
There's a lot of stupid anyone really. People who don't follow the meta-game very well.
However, the simplest and most efficient counter to when you get whomped while in Frenzy state is to use Sprint.
My Frenzy strat is to NOT use it until I know the enemy team is worrying about someone else or attacking someone else. If I'm under fire, I just don't use it. Not hard really.
Also, Frenzy is BEST implemented when you can unleash your entire attack combo on your hapless foe.
For me, that combo is Eviscerate, Exe. Strike, Swift Chop, Fear Me!!
It's quite fitting when after 3 swipes and 75% hp torn down, you yell Fear Me! anyway...

Well, if frenzy was enough to kill some random noob in TA spamming it.. I better rethink using it!

You'd better switch your avatar to sprint before you get flamed. You know, so you don't take double damage.

Oh shit! You're right, I'm owned. You were in Team Arenas, so you had to be facing some stiff competition.

Oh wait. This group was clearly joking around or a bunch of idiots. I retract my earlier apology. Once again, people who judge skills based on fighting shitty players are idiots. I don't want to call anyone an idiot, but unienaule is drastically being borderline retarded.
